kimono

I always forget what a painstaking task painting my right hand is when I do my nails. The left hand goes over like a hot knife through butter and I feel like superwoman. The resulting right hand debacle ends up being the manicure equivalent of the artwork a preschooler touts home to proudly post on the fridge...only I'm not 3 years old. Luckily, this sheer floaty kimono is redeeming enough to negate my nail situation...complete with a cut out bustier and leather shorts. Really stoked that I found these sunglasses too, they really are the perfect addition to oh, I don't know, every single thing that I own, including kitchen accessories. They are that good.

Been super attracted to this party in the back business lately...the harder it is to wear a bra, the more I seem to like it. Typical. Found this area overlooking LA while waiting for Tosh.0 to begin filming next week's episode...I ended up with two tickets in my inbox on Wednesday morning, quelle surprise. Naturally this mini-jaunt required studs, a lot of black, extremely gusty Santa Ana winds, and cowboy boots. Definitely been stoked on different textures lately, and have probably been stupidly overwearing this jacket...hey, ain't no one messin' with me in any parking lots late at night. Just saying.

california winter

I should probably rename this blog to "500 ways to wear flannels" since I can't seem to stop wearing them! I guiltily admit to buying a backless one just a few days ago...they are such a casual staple and given the amount of necessary frontieresque garb required in my daily life I'd say my obsession is justified. In other exciting news, this is what winter in southern california looks like....sun drenched, complete with quilted leather short shorts and bare legs...not a cloud in the sky.

Birthday weekend spent driving through ghost towns and stopping at free standing jerky stands (one of the only things I miss about not eating meat...second only to bacon and In-n-Out) Even though we ended up being snowed out of one town, the garlic and onion pistachios I picked up were enough to console me as we made our way up the Sierra Nevadas. Meeting up with an old friend in Virginia City was the cherry on top of this weekend spent predominantly in the jacuzzi, blowing small change on penny slots, and with many a vodka pineapple. Oh, and living in the Rumi's of course...makes me feel like I'm in an epic western shootout.
